Fledgling Voices - A Poetry Contest
for Younger Writers
Prizes: Two of £50,
three of £30, fifteen of £20

Closing date: 26 November 2005

Poems have to be in English and should be all your own original work. You can write about whatever you like. If you want some help choosing a subject, it could be good to discuss it with a friend in your community or at home.

Poems may be any length up to but not more than 40 lines.

The competition is for people from 13 to 18 years old; so we ask you to tell us your month and year of birth.

There is an entry fee of £2, which you can pay by Postal Order bought at a Post Office or by cheque made out to "Kick Start Poets". With this single payment you may enter either one poem or two.

Type or write your poem(s) on one side of A4 paper. Do not put your name, address or anything else on that sheet. Be sure to keep a copy for yourself, as we shall not return the one you send us.

Send us your poem(s) together with the completed entry slip below in time to reach us before 26 November 2005, addressing them to Kick Start Poets, P.O. Box 89, Shaftesbury SP7 9RU.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of three judges.
